Klondike Derby, January 2014


Klondike Derby at Ensign Ranch. Event was Saturday, January 18. We arrived Friday evening. 
First order of business - make fire.

Success!

Second order of business - cook food.

Third order of business - go to bed.

Success!  We were 3rd place in this event.

Next event - Mail Run - deliver bag of mail to yonder pole and return ASAP.

Next event - Ice Rescue - tie short ropes together and throw to
Bryce, who is 40 feet away on a frozen lake.

Next event - everybody puts one foot on the small chunk of wood and lifts the other foot off the ground.
Last event - knot tying - everybody has to tie a randomly assigned knot.




True to his name, Ty ties his own knot and then shows other people how to do theirs.

Jamal completes the hardest knot of all - the dreaded bowline on a bight.  We won FIRST PLACE in this event, and second place overall in the New Scout Division.  SUCCESS!
